Citadel is operated tooling for DayZ communities. Two different kinds of people show up in our data, and they have different questions, so this page answers them separately: the server owners who sign up and pay us, and the players on their servers, most of whom will never visit this site.
If you run a server with Citadel
We hold your account email and display name, your Discord identity if you sign in with Discord, your organization and team membership, and the configuration you set. Payments run through Stripe; we store Stripe's customer and subscription references, never your card details.
We do not sell any of it, and we do not use it for anything except running the product, billing, and answering your support requests.
If you play on a server that uses Citadel
Your server's staff use Citadel to see what is happening on their server. On their behalf we process: your Steam ID and in-game names, your in-game position and events (connects, kills, placements), your session history, any bans they record, and your IP address with a country derived from it.
The IP address exists for one reason — helping staff spot ban evasion — and it is deleted automatically after 180 days. Game events are kept between 14 and 90 days depending on the kind of record; performance metrics are kept raw for 48 hours and as hourly summaries for 90 days.
The server community you play on decides what is collected and who on their staff sees it; Citadel processes it for them. If you want your data removed, ask your server's staff — or contact us directly (below) and we will handle it with them.
Where it lives
Data is stored on infrastructure in the United States, behind Cloudflare. Backups are encrypted in transit, stored off the primary machine, and expire after 30 days.
